Antimicrobial activity of different nanocellulose films embedded with thyme, cinnamon, and oregano essential oils for active packaging application on raspberries

The study focuses on the antimicrobial activity of nanocellulose films (NFC) embedded with thyme, cinnamon, and oregano essential oils for active packaging application. against model pathogenic bacteria was first tested to obtain each oil's minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). tests showed that surface area quantity oil strongly influenced effect. Then, different systems were directly packed raspberries their actual commercial conditions. Through 12 days storage at 1°C, it observed thyme more effective in maintaining firmness reducing weight loss fruits compared cinnamon or control; no significant effect other quality parameters considered. independently proved preventing fungal growth. However, combined impact thyme+oregano (NAP_TO) demonstrated best performance.
